Regular strikes will "impress" the Russian top brass.
Ukraine does not necessarily need to hit the entire Russian territory, but rather focus on weekly strikes on military and oil infrastructure in Moscow, as attacks on the capital will impress the Russian top brass.
This is the view of is voiced by Denis Shtilerman, designer of the Fire Point defense company, the manufacturer of the Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missile, in an interview with blogger Denis Kazansky.
"For these hits to make any impression on the Russian top brass, they should be (strikes - ed.) only inside Moscow - Rublevka and Moscow. The rest is of no importance to them," the developer said.
Stilerman also said that as of today, Fire Point can produce about three Flamingo missiles per day. After switching to its own engine, the company will be able to produce as many as it is ordered.
The designer said that Fire Point is now completing the development of its own jet engine for the above-mentioned missiles, optimized for low-altitude flights.
Stilerman said that the original plan was to build the missile on the basis of a domestic AI-25 or AI-25TL engine, because this engine is much more efficient than single-circuit engines, which are usually used on cruise missiles. For this purpose, a stock of used engines purchased through third companies was secretly formed.
Now the company is already finalizing the development of its own engine. It will also be a turbojet engine with a low twin-circuit ratio.
