US President Donald Trump said in Truth Social that US forces carried out one of the most powerful bombing attacks in the history of the Middle East. The attack destroyed all military targets on the island of Kharg.
"A few minutes ago, at my direction, U.S. Central Command carried out one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East, completely destroying all military targets on the jewel of the Iranian empire - Kharg Island," Trump wrote.
He emphasized that American weapons are the most powerful and advanced in the world. At the same time, he noted that "for reasons of decency" he decided not to destroy the oil infrastructure on the island. Although he added that there is a condition under which the decision could change.
"If Iran or anyone else takes any action that impedes the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision," the US leader said.
Trump added, Iran is not capable of defending what the US wants to attack, and Tehran, according to him, can do nothing about it. Summarizing he called for laying down arms, saying Iran will never possess nuclear weapons.
"Iran will never have nuclear weapons, nor will it be able to threaten the United States of America, the Middle East, or for that matter, the entire world!" he said. The Iranian army and everyone else involved with this terrorist regime would be wise to lay down their arms and salvage what is left of their country, which is not much!" he emphasized.
By the way, in this post, Trump again "bragged" that during his term as president he has rebuilt the U.S. military and made it the most powerful and effective force in the world.
With regard to Kharg Island, CNN explains that it is a five-mile stretch of land off the Iranian coast that remained untouched during the first two weeks with Iran. But most importantly, roughly 90% of the country's oil exports pass through this island.
