Ukrainian Expert: SBU Disables Key Russian Oil Hubs

The SBU operations strike not only at domestic logistics, but also at Russia's export potential.

The Security Service of Ukraine is knocking out key oil hubs of the Russian Federation and reducing the possibility of Russians to make money on the growth of world prices. This is what political scientist and former Verkhovna Rada MP Alexander Chernenko writes in his blog on the "Censor.net" website, commenting on the Service's drone strikes on the Tikhoretsk oil pumping station.

The expert emphasizes that this oil hub is one of the largest transshipment points. "The service strikes at the points where logistics flows converge. After all, a strike on the hub associated with supplies to the port of Novorossiysk has a geo-economic dimension. Just like the successful attacks on the port itself before it. It is through Novorossiysk that much of Russia's energy resources reach world markets. And the operations strike not only at domestic logistics, but also at Russia's export potential," the former parliamentarian believes.

The political analyst stresses that such strikes force Russia to turn its own territory into a defense zone, stretching air defense and security resources for thousands of kilometers. "Russia spends resources to defend its own economy. After each such strike, the Kremlin invests in defending oil depots, pipelines and ports, which diverts resources away from the frontline. And regular successful attacks by Evgeny Khmara's subordinates show that even Russia's strategic facilities are not fully protected," the expert writes.

"The service has finally turned into a structure capable of systematically destroying critical enemy infrastructure very far from the front line. The systemic defeat of oil hubs gradually undermines the financial base of the war, even as world prices rise. Since oil remains Russia's main source of income," Chernenko summarizes.

We will remind, earlier it became known that drones of the Center of special operations "Alpha" SBU hit the infrastructure of the oil pumping station "Tikhoretsk". A large oil depot and terminal are located there, which play an important role in the logistics of Russian fuel and oil products.
