A Ukrainian officer revealed the details.

Ukrainian defenders managed to carry out unexpected for the Russian invaders actions in the Oleksandrivka direction - they have intercepted the initiative and continue to carry out counter-offensive actions. This was told by the officer of the communications department of the 148th separate artillery Zhytomyr brigade of the 8th Corps of Airborne Assault Troops Sergei Kolesnichenko on air of the Kiev24 channel.

The military explained that the Ukrainian defenders were able to seize the initiative due to a combination of several factors.

"First of all, it is the careful planning of the operation and the chosen strategy of action, which allowed to impose a disadvantageous pace of combat operations on the enemy. An important role was played by the effect of surprise, when our units acted where and when the enemy did not expect it," Kolesnichenko emphasized.

"Intelligence reveals enemy positions in a timely manner, unmanned systems specify targets and correct fire, and artillery strikes at manpower, equipment and logistics. As a result, the enemy is more forced to react to our actions than to realize his own plans. This is what allows us to gradually intercept the initiative and create conditions for the further advance of our units," the officer noted.

He was also asked whether the liberation of the Dnipropetrovsk region would improve the situation on adjacent sections of the front and whether it would affect the situation in the Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions.

"Any successes of the Ukrainian Defense Forces on individual sections of the front certainly affect the overall operational situation. At the same time, each direction has its own specifics, its own intensity of fighting and enemy groups. Therefore, it would be premature to speak about the direct influence of events in one direction on the situation, in particular in Donetsk region or near Gulyaypol," he said.
