SBU Foils Assassination Attempt On Legendary General Biletskyy
Andrei Biletskoy

It was prepared by a Russian "mole" in the ranks of the AFU.

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a Russian agent who was preparing the liquidation of the commander of the Third Army Corps Andriy Biletsky.

It was reported by SBU.

The SBU military counterintelligence, with the assistance of the AFU commander-in-chief and the commander of the Unmanned Systems Force, reportedly thwarted Russian attempts to eliminate the commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Defense Forces.

As a result of proactive actions, a Russian agent who was preparing a targeted missile and bomb attack on the Ukrainian general's location in the combat zone was detained.

To correct the aerial attack, Russian security services recruited a drone operator from another brigade performing tasks in the Kharkiv region.

According to the investigation, the figure was trying to get information about the time and place of arrival of an AFU general at the positions of his unit.

The agent used his access to official information to gather intelligence, and also tried to elicit "classified" information from his colleagues in the service in a veiled manner.

At the same time, the agent was to "leak" to the occupants the location of the headquarters and training center of his brigade, on which the enemy was preparing a separate shelling.

The SBU employees worked ahead of the curve and exposed the Russian "mole" at the initial stage of his espionage activities. After that, his contacts with the Rashists were gradually documented and the locations of the relevant Defense Forces were protected.

At the final stage of the special operation, the agent was detained on the territory of the garrison. He was seized a smartphone, from which he kept in touch with the occupants.

According to the case materials, the defendant was recruited by the Russian security services through his ex-wife, who lives in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporizhzhya region and works for the Russian Federation.

The agent regularly deleted messages from the correspondence in order to conceal the connection with the enemy.

The SBU investigators informed the "mole" of suspicion under part 2 of article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).

The attacker is now in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
