Poland Strengthens Border With Belarus

Another roadblock will appear.

The construction of another fence on the border with Belarus is planned to start in the near future in the Podlasie Voivodeship of Poland, RMF FM reports with reference to the Border Guard of the country.

In November last year, the border guard leadership said that the four-meter fence would be erected by spring, but "the work was delayed by a very cold winter."

According to RMF FM, the Polish Armed Forces will be responsible for the construction. Members of the engineering forces have already been incorporated into the border guard units to carry out these tasks. It is currently being determined where the construction materials will be stored.

The fence will be a mesh fence on posts with barbed wire, the publication notes.

"It takes more time to overcome these four meters. Then we will have more opportunities to approach this place," said the commandant of the Podlasie branch of the Border Guard Slawomir Klekotka.

It is noted that behind the main fence it is planned to install another two-meter fence, which should protect forest animals from cuts.
