The AFU Has Liberated Almost All Of Dnipropetrovsk Region

A Ukrainian general revealed the details.

Ukrainian defense forces are conducting an offensive operation in the south, and they have already managed to liberate almost the entire territory of Dnipropetrovsk region. Major General Major General Alexander Komarenko, head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff, told this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

"More than 400 square kilometers of our territory have already been liberated. On a somewhat smaller territory, the rear area has been cleared of enemy persons who infiltrated there. Almost the entire territory of the Dnepropetrovsk region has been liberated. Three small settlements remain to be completed and two more to be cleared," he said.

He added that thanks to these successes, more territory was liberated in February than was lost.

Komarenko also said that this was a planned offensive operation that went through all approval and coordination procedures. It is carried out by airborne and assault troops, assault troops with the support of mechanized brigades, which are defending in this direction.

Commenting on the situation on the front, the general noted that it is "complicated, but controlled." The most difficult directions are Pokrovskoye and Alexandrovskoye, where the enemy has concentrated its main efforts.

"But we are gradually equalizing the situation through our active actions. Now the number of enemy attacks in the areas of Pokrovsk and Mirnograd has somewhat decreased due to the redirection of his troops to the Aleksandrovsk direction," the general added.

He added that during the spring campaign the priority directions for the Russians will remain Pokrovsk, Aleksandrovsk and Zaporizhzhya directions.

"These are for them the directions of concentration of main efforts to fulfill the tasks they set for themselves. And this is, firstly, full control over the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Secondly, maximum advancement in Zaporizhzhya and Dnipropetrovsk regions," he explained.
