The manufacturer has revealed the details.
Ukrainian defense company Fire Point is developing its own FP-7 and FP-9 ballistic missiles. They could become a cheaper analog of Lockheed Martin's American ATACMS and be mass produced.
As of now, the FP-7 has already been tested, and the FP-9 is being prepared for tests. The company's chief designer and co-founder Denis Shtilerman told Army TV in an interview.
What is known about Ukrainian ballistics
The key idea behind the development, Shtilerman said, is to make ballistic missiles as cheap as possible in order to produce them in large quantities.
He said that the FP-7 missile is capable of hitting targets at a distance of several hundred kilometers and has already been tested. Meanwhile, the FP-9 will have a range of up to 800 kilometers and is now being prepared for tests.
"It will be an analog of ATACMS, perhaps even with a larger warhead. But it will cost at least half as much," the designer said.

The missiles are planned to be launched from mobile launchers disguised as ordinary trucks to make them difficult to detect. Deployment of the complex, according to the developers, can take about 15 minutes.
