The Russian SVR believes the dictator will be removed from power by "liberal passionaries."
NGOs of Western countries, including "democratizing" structures, agencies and foundations of the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Poland and other European states are allegedly making attempts to form a resource of "embittered oppositionists" in Belarus ahead of the presidential elections to be held in 2030. This is reported by Charter97.org with reference to the press bureau of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) of Russia.
"To implement the scenario of color revolution, the task is set to find new liberal passionaries in the Belarusian society," reads the statement.
The Russian SVR says that the West hopes to "weaken the bond between Minsk and Moscow" within the framework of the "union state" and make it difficult for Russia to achieve the goals of the "special military operation".
"The Westerners are planning to conduct a thorough "inventory" of Belarusian opposition cadres for their use in subversive activities. It is planned to form a resource of those "angry at Alexander Lukashenko," the Russian SVR reported.
