Media: Russian Defense Ministry's Deputy GRU Chief Was Shot By A Woman

The lieutenant general was attacked as he left his apartment.
In Moscow, an assassination attempt was made on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, first deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (military intelligence, known as GRU).
Russian law enforcement sources told Kommersant that the attack took place around seven o'clock in the morning. The Russian general was on his way to work, with a company car and driver waiting for him downstairs.
On the landing, Alexeyev was confronted by an unidentified man who, according to preliminary reports, entered the house posing as a food delivery man. The perpetrator, who according to one version could be a woman, wounded the general in the arm and leg, and when he tried to take away his gun, also in the chest.
Alekseyev was hospitalized (in serious condition.
