Russian Defense Ministry GRU General Wounded In Moscow Is In Serious Condition

New details of the assassination attempt have emerged.

Today, February 6, an assassination attempt was made on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev of the Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow. An unknown person shot him several times in the back and then fled the scene.

The attack reportedly took place near an apartment building on Volokolamskoye highway, where the general of the occupying army lives. The killer waited for Alexeyev near the entrance and opened fire when he appeared.

The wounded lieutenant general was taken to one of the capital's hospitals. Data on his condition has not yet been disclosed.

Law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case under the articles "attempted murder" and "illegal trafficking in firearms." The attacker is being sought.
