Lost Light And Heating: Analysts Confirmed Blackout In Belgorod

The hit was recorded in the northern part of Belgorodskaya TPP.

On the night of February 6, residents of Belgorod reported numerous explosions, after which lights and heating were lost. And the governor said the damage was "serious," but gave no further details, writes Focus.

Then the OSINT-analysts of ASTRA analyzed the video with the moment of the attack on Belgorod, published by the local publication "Pepel Belgord", and came to the conclusion that although Vyacheslav Gladkov stubbornly avoided the word "explosions", but as a result of the "shelling" the local CHPP was badly damaged.

"According to our analysis, the footage was taken from Veselaya Street. The distance from the shooting point to the explosion site is about 350 meters. The hit was recorded in the northern part of Belgorod CHPP, which is located at 2 Severo-Donetskaya Street, Belgorod," concluded ASTRA's OSINT analyst.

No casualties were reported.

"We have a large volume of damage to the energy infrastructure of the city of Belgorod, Belgorod, Rakityansky, Borisovsky, Graivoronsky, and Yakovlevsky districts. But the emergency crews, I would like to say once again, are all in their places, they are all doing their job. I can't say more in detail, because we understand that the enemy is carefully analyzing the current situation," said the governor of the Belgorod Region.

Gladkov said that temporary accommodation centers and temporary heating points "are not being deployed yet," despite the fact that "it has not been possible to fully restore electricity supply in Belgorod." He also complained that "civilian Belgorod" was shelled, where "there were and are no military facilities."

Local media and eyewitnesses earlier reported that the Frunzenskaya power substation in the village of Dragunskoye, Belgorod district, came under fire. It is interesting that the official Russian media, such as TASS, reported the shelling of Belgorod and the problems with electricity and heating very sparingly, evasively stating that there was "damage to infrastructure and disruptions in the supply of electricity and heat". There was no further information about Belgorod.

The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry reported that 30 "powerful generators" had been sent to Belgorod and a published video showed the city plunged into darkness and traffic lights not working.
