Details.

A submarine cable connecting Poland and Sweden is temporarily out of service due to a fault.

The operator of the Polish power system Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne said, RMF24 reports.

The SwePol Link high-voltage DC submarine cable between Poland and Sweden, capable of transmitting 600 MW at 450 kV, malfunctioned on the evening of February 11.

As a result, the connection is temporarily out of service due to the fault on February 12. The company notes that there is no indication that this was the result of deliberate action.

"Preparatory work is ongoing to repair the damaged component," Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne noted.

It is currently expected to be restored by midnight on February 14.

SwePol Link is a submarine power grid connecting Poland and Sweden and enabling the transmission of electricity between the countries. The cable is laid on the bottom of the Baltic Sea for more than 200 kilometers.
