US Names Condition For Lifting Sanctions On Russian Oil

Washington's position was voiced by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

If the Russian Federation's war against Ukraine is finished, as well as the situation in Venezuela and Iran is stabilized, it will allow a significant drop in oil prices.

This was stated by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on air on Fox News channel, writes UNIAN.

"Thanks to the peace agreements, we will be able to see a significant drop in oil prices. If the issues on Venezuela, Iran, as well as Russia and Ukraine are resolved, a huge amount of oil from the sanctions of the Ministry of Finance will be able to enter the market," he said.

Bessent emphasized that such changes will happen only after the official end of the war and the conclusion of the relevant international agreements. The minister stressed that this would not only increase oil volumes on the world market, but would also signal the stabilization of global energy prices.

According to experts, the possibility announced by Bessent showed a flexible approach of the United States to the sanctions policy, provided Russia fulfills the terms of the peace agreement with Ukraine.

Experts believe that lifting sanctions on Russian oil would be one of the most significant changes in the energy market, reducing dependence on other energy sources and stabilizing prices for consumers
