There Are New References To Trump In The Epstein Case
Jeffrey Epstein

We're talking about the events of 2006.

Documents released in the US in the Jeffrey Epstein case contain information about a possible phone call involving Donald Trump. It's about events in 2006.

The BBC reports.

What the FBI documents say

The newly released materials in the Jeffrey Epstein case include a transcript of an FBI interview with the former Palm Beach police chief. The document, quoted by the BBC citing a US Department of Justice publication, is dated 2019.

The interviewee of investigators claimed that after the investigation began in 2006, Donald Trump called him and said, "Thank God you're stopping him, everybody knows he's doing it."

According to the transcript, the conversation mentioned that Epstein was expelled from the Mar-a-Lago Club because "people in New York knew he was disgusting."

It is also alleged that law enforcement was advised to look into Ghislaine Maxwell, who was described as "evil" and linked to the financier's activities.

In addition, the document cites that the interviewee allegedly ended up near Epstein while he was "with teenagers" after which "went from there."

Reaction from the parties

The publication notes that a Justice Department official said: the agency "is not aware of any evidence to suggest that the president contacted law enforcement 20 years ago."

White House press secretary Carolyn Leavitt, when asked about the possible call, said: "it may or may not have happened in 2006. I don't know the answer."

"Trump has always said that he kicked Jeffrey Epstein out of his Mar-a-Lago club because Jeffrey Epstein was a scumbag. And that's true regarding that call. If it did happen, it confirms exactly what President Trump has been saying all along," Livitt said.

Donald Trump has previously denied involvement in wrongdoing in the Epstein case and said he had no knowledge of his crimes.

In 2019, commenting on the financier's arrest on sex trafficking charges, he emphasized: "No, I had no idea. I haven't spoken to him in many, many years."
