Zelensky To Attend Munich Security Conference

He will be given an award for the people of Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will lead the Ukrainian delegation to the 62nd Munich Security Conference (MSC), which will be held from February 13th to 15th. The MSC informed about it on February 11.

"We have the honor to confirm that President Zelensky will return to Munich and lead the Ukrainian delegation," the report said.

On behalf of his country, Zelensky will also accept the Ewald von Kleist Award dedicated to the brave Ukrainian people.

It will be awarded on February 14 on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, dpa noted.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will deliver the speech.

MSC Chairman Wolfgang Ischinger said, "For more than 10 years now, the Ukrainian people have been fighting for their freedom, independence and dignity - first in Crimea and Donbass after the Russian invasion in 2014, and later across the country after Russia launched its massive invasion in 2022."

Last year's winner of the Ewald von Kleist Prize was EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, who was noted for her support for Ukraine, dpa pointed out.

The 62nd Munich Security Conference will host about 60 world leaders, 100 defense and foreign ministers, a number of generals and diplomats, dpa said. In particular, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, EU and NATO leaders are expected at the conference.

The United States will be represented at the conference by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
