Britain has allocated a package of funding for the purchase of American weapons for Ukraine. The country joins the PURL program.
British Defense Secretary John Healey said this in a commentary to Politico.
"I am pleased to confirm that Britain is committing £150 million (about $205 million - ed.) to PURL. Together we must provide Ukraine with critically needed air defenses in response to Putin's (Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - ed.) brutal offensive," Healey said.
Two unnamed NATO diplomats told the publication that so far three-quarters of the alliance's 32 members have pledged to join the scheme.
Australia and New Zealand have also joined, while Japan is expected to announce non-lethal aid.
