Kremlin Will Not Attend Trump's First 'peace Council' Meeting

The meeting will be held on February 19 in Washington, DC.

The Kremlin does not yet intend to send its representatives to the first meeting of the "Peace Council" established by US President Donald Trump. This RTVI was reported by the Russian dictator's spokesman Dmitri Peskov.

"No one is planning to come from the Kremlin. The topic of the 'Council' is still being worked out at the Foreign Ministry," he said.

At a State Duma meeting today, February 11, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the department was working out its attitude to the organization. "Our attitude to the 'Peace Council' we are working it out now, taking into account how wary of this idea very many countries in the West and in the East, including permanent members of the UN Security Council, have been," the Russian foreign minister said.

The first meeting will be held on February 19 in Washington, sources told The New York Times (NYT) and Axios. According to the NYT source, one of the main topics of the upcoming summit will be raising funds for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
