Former MI6 intelligence chief reveals what's saving Russia so far amid war against Ukraine.
China is actively helping Russia in the war against Ukraine. According to the former head of British MI6 intelligence agency Richard Moore, Vladimir Putin would not be able to withstand a long war.
He said this in an interview with Clash Report. According to him, Beijing is giving Moscow more support than Pyongyang and Tehran.
"I'm absolutely certain that Putin would have lost by now if it weren't for the Chinese support he's gotten. So the headlines are often about the North Koreans providing him with about 12,000 troops for the Battle of Kursk, or about the Iranians providing him with drone technology," he said.
In December 2025 alone, the former head of British intelligence believes about 30,000 Russians will die in a single month.
"That's as many as they lost in the decade-long campaign in Afghanistan. The losses are terrible, and even the Russians will have a hard time making up for this level of losses," he concluded.
