Zelensky Announced The First Trilateral Meeting Between Ukraine, The US And Russia

The talks could take place as early as the next few days at the Emirates.

Ukraine, the United States and Russia will hold a trilateral meeting at the technical level for the first time. It will take place in the coming days in the Emirates.

As "RBC-Ukraine" reports, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said this at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Ukrainian head of state reminded that today, January 22, the American delegation will go to Moscow. US officials were waiting for Zelensky to meet with US President Donald Trump to go for talks with dictator Vladimir Putin.

"And now they will leave and my team will meet with the American team and I think it will be the first trilateral meeting in the Emirates and I think it will be tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. Yes, it will be a meeting that will last two days in the Emirates," Zelensky said.

The president said he hopes the Emirates is aware of such plans, as sometimes the American side arranges "surprises." In any case, negotiating teams will go there.

"I think it's good if this trilateral meeting starts at the technical level.... The Russians should be ready to compromise, because you know, everybody should be ready, not only Ukraine, and this is important for us," he pointed out.

The president suggested that U.S. officials may meet with Putin in Moscow on the night of January 23 or as early as tomorrow afternoon.

"Maybe they (Russians - ed.) will have to wait a little bit for the meeting to take place. I don't know. But tomorrow and the day after tomorrow we will have a trilateral meeting, our guys will have a trilateral meeting. It's better than not having any dialog. We are under attack, people are living without electricity, we are in a difficult situation, but the Russians are also in a difficult situation, and we are responding to their attacks. God willing, the war will stop, I hope so," Zelensky noted.
