The Trap For Russians In Kupyansk Has Closed

The AFU are preparing the final stage of the city cleanup.

In Kupyansk, Ukrainian defenders continue mopping up the city from Russian occupants. Most of the enemy is now concentrated in one block of high-rise buildings.

The head of the United Forces Communications Department Viktor Tregubov said in Telegram:

"Most of the enemy is concentrated in the city center in one block of high-rise buildings. So now it is a question of completing the mopping-up of this block and, preferably, without casualties on the part of Ukrainian soldiers."

He added that all attempts by the Russians to improve their situation and restore land communication with the city have so far failed. Pressure to the east of Kupyansk is also not giving the occupiers the desired effect.

"This means that these people (Russians in Kupyansk - ed.) are not receiving reinforcements," Tregubov emphasized.

He said that the Russians' plan in Sumy and Kharkiv regions is to create a "control zone" along the border. In the Liman direction, the enemy seeks to take control of Liman and move towards the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration.

At the same time, in Volchansk, the occupants are gaining a foothold in the northern part of the city, but they have not yet managed to move south.
