The U.S. president acknowledged that there are controversial personalities among the invitees.
American President Donald Trump said that there are controversial personalities among those invited to the "Peace Council", but they are "influential" and "know how to get results". So he commented on the proposal to the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin to join the council.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Trump's communication with journalists in Davos, on the margins of the "World Economic Forum."
"We want everybody," the White House chief said when asked why Putin should be invited to the "Peace Council."
"I have some controversial people, but these are people who know how to get things done. These are people who have enormous influence. If there were only kids on the council, it wouldn't be very useful," Trump added.
The American leader also emphasized that the council would do a lot of work that "the UN would have to do." That said, according to Trump cooperation with the organization will happen, but the "Peace Council" will be "special."
