The AFU Has Punctured The Kremlin's "information Bubble"

Ordinary Russians are increasingly talking about Ukrainian drone strikes.

The issue of security guarantees for Ukraine continues to dominate Western diplomatic meetings, but current proposals are questionable, writes the Atlantic Council (translated by Charter97.org).

The most realistic way forward is to strengthen Kiev's own defense capabilities. Since 2022, the Ukrainian army has grown significantly to become Europe's largest fighting force and a leader in the use of drones. Allied support, including arms shipments and financial resources, has allowed the country's defense industry to accelerate.

This transformation has helped halt Russia's offensive. Russian forces have captured less than 1 percent of Ukraine's territory, suffering heavy casualties. Experts believe that to effectively deter Putin, Ukraine needs not only to defend itself, but also to be able to strike Russian territory.

Since 2025, Ukraine has been actively using strike drones and long-range cruise missiles, hitting military facilities, defense industries, and Russia's oil and gas infrastructure. These strikes disrupt logistics and reduce the Kremlin's revenues from energy exports, while having a psychological impact on the Russian population.

A Levada Center poll found that 28% of Russians noted Ukrainian drone strikes as the main event of the year, indicating a bursting of the Kremlin's information bubble.

Ukrainian authorities have urged Western partners to support the production of drones and missiles domestically. Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga emphasized: "The modern arms race is not about nuclear weapons, but about millions of cheap drones. Whoever ramps up production faster will ensure peace." Ukraine is capable of producing up to 20 million drones next year with sufficient funding.

Experts believe that expanding Ukraine's strike capabilities into Russian territory will be the most reliable security guarantee and a tool to pressure the Kremlin to end the war.
