Fresh Nuclear Fuel Loaded At BelNPP

The second power unit was turned on after "repairs".

The planned preventive maintenance of the second power unit of BelNPP has been completed, the Ministry of Energy said in the morning on January 10, writes "Mirror".

"The unit is switched on. As part of the work performed, part of the spent nuclear fuel has been replaced with fresh fuel," the Energy Ministry said.

The ministry noted that "in accordance with international practice, in order to maintain a stable operating condition of the equipment, preventive maintenance is carried out annually at nuclear power plants."

Reminder, the shutdown and switching on of the second power unit was also reported last July. At that time, it was said that "the generator cooling system - the non-nuclear part of the unit - signaled a deviation in its operation".
