Work on the creation of the newest American fighter jet F-47 has already begun. This was announced by US President Donald Trump.

The first flight tests of the American sixth-generation fighter F-47, being created under the New Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) program, are scheduled for 2028.

The details of the project are classified. All that is known is that the F-47 will have a range of more than 1,600 kilometers, a speed of more than Mach two (about 2,248 km/h) and advanced stealth reduction technologies. It is known that the U.S. Air Force plans to purchase at least 185 such aircraft, the cost of each of which may exceed $300 million.

The development of the F-47 is being realized within the framework of the NGAD initiative, which also includes the creation of unmanned satellites, new engines, weapons, electronic warfare and battle management systems.
