Polish security agencies are planning to launch one of the most large-scale security operations, whose tasks will include countering acts of sabotage. This was announced by Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz. The services plan to launch the operation on November 21. According to the plan, the operation will involve up to 10,000 troops.
"This is one of the largest operations," the defense minister said at a joint press conference with Interior and Administration Minister Marcin Kerwinski quoted by PAP). - Together with Minister Kierwiński, we are submitting a request to the Prime Minister, and then the Prime Minister's request will be forwarded to the President of the Republic of Poland."
The Minister explained that the purpose of the operation is to take measures to ensure security, protect critical infrastructure and ensure cooperation between all public services to counter acts of sabotage and increase the security of citizens. Police officers, military personnel, railway guards and all state institutions are expected to coordinate their actions.
"Poland will use all available resources - in all ministries, in all state agencies - to protect the safety of its citizens," emphasized, for his part, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwinski. The work is planned in three areas. One of them includes aerial surveillance of facilities and communications, as well as patrolling the territory.
The Chief of General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Wieslaw Kukula said that the operation will be carried out by forces and means of the Polish Army, all branches of the army and the command of the cyber component. General Macej Klisz will command the operation. "We intend to launch our operation on November 21," General Kukula said.
