The new automobile bridge over Pripyat in Mozyr, which was recently inaugurated with the participation of Alexander Lukashenko and much praised by the state media, quickly lost its "calling card" - bright illumination, writes "Flagstaff".

Local residents report that a few days after the opening of the facility, the illumination of the bridge arch and the lighting of the stairs were turned off, and the elevators do not work. Only standard lighting along the roadway remained.

In social networks people are indignant: they say that "the show is over" and the bridge now looks ordinary, although the illuminated structure used to attract a lot of attention.

The large number of people on the bridge, by the way, also caused problems - locals noted that during mass photo shoots and walks of teenagers, a lot of garbage quickly appeared on it, and on the illuminated arch - footprints from the shoes of those who tried to climb it.

After that, the police issued a warning: they called for "careful treatment of the object", reminded about responsibility for property damage, advised parents to talk to their children about the inadmissibility of vandalism and to report "suspicious groups" on the bridge. It was also emphasized that one should not stand on the railings and decorative elements.

With this background, local residents believe that the lights and elevators could have been deliberately turned off so that people would not gather on the bridge in the evenings. At the same time, they remind that there is a city park nearby, which is practically unlit at night.
