Ukraine To Receive 500 Mln Dollars For Arms Purchase From The USA

Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia and Iceland will pay for the weapons.

Eight northern European countries - located in Scandinavia and the Baltics - will allocate 430 million euros ($500 million) as part of a program to buy the weapons Ukraine needs, with funding mainly from European partners. The corresponding statement was published on Thursday, November 13, on NATO's website.

"Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Sweden announced today the co-financing of a $500 million package of military equipment and ammunition from the United States for Ukraine as part of NATO's PURL initiative," the publication said.

The decision was welcomed by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. According to him, the delivery of "critical military equipment" takes on particular importance against the backdrop of the fact that Ukraine is entering the winter period."

The Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) program has been in place since July 2025 under NATO's agreement with US President Donald Trump. On September 17, Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine had already received more than 2 billion dollars under the PURL, and at the end of the year hopes for 3-3.5 billion dollars. This money was used to buy, in particular, missiles for Patriot air defense systems and HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.

Nearly before that, Reuters reported that the United States was resuming arms deliveries to Ukraine for the first time since Trump returned to the White House. At the time, it was noted that the country would soon receive two arms packages of $500 million each under PURL.
