The first step should be taken by Minsk.
Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginenė says all diplomatic channels are being used as she continues her discussions regarding possible negotiations with Belarus, but a first step from Minsk is expected, LRT reports.
"Indeed, all diplomatic channels are activated to resolve the situation. And the borders with Belarus are not closed for nothing - they are closed because of the hybrid attack. As soon as we receive confirmation from Belarus that the attacks have been settled (...), we will make a decision to open the border," the prime minister told reporters on Thursday.
Yesterday, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov said that official Minsk is ready for negotiations at any moment, on any territory and without preconditions.
"If the Lithuanian side is really ready to respect the interests of its citizens, is really ready to build its actions in accordance with the needs and requirements of those businessmen who are in the country. The reason was repeated violations of the country's airspace by weather probes, which led to paralyzing the work of Vilnius airport.
