A Su-34 bomber crashed during a training flight in the Volgograd Region. Both pilots ejected, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the department, the aircraft crashed in an uninhabited area; there was no damage on the ground. The flight was carried out without ammunition. The preliminary cause of the emergency was named as a technical malfunction.
On June 11, a Su-34 frontline fighter-bomber crashed in the mountainous area of North Ossetia. That time, the crew died. A technical malfunction was also named as the cause of the crash.
