Russian Soldier Lanches Hand Mortar Against Residential Area In Rostov Region

The cause of the incident was the alleged ‘mistake’ of the soldier.

A soldier launched an anti-tank grenade launcher hitting a residential area in Gukovo, Russian Rostov region, according to the ASTRA Telegram channel.

The channel writes that the alleged “mistake” of the Russian military became the cause of the incident, while information about the destruction and possible victims is not reported, possibly due to the fact that it is classified. The identity of the "distinguished" soldier is also not disclosed.

“A soldier fired an uncontrolled shot from the RPG-22, while at a temporary deployment point, which caused an explosion. According to preliminary data, no one was injured,” the authors of the channel write.

In turn, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation did not comment on the explosion in Gukovo at all, pretending that there was no such incident at all.

The mayor of Gukovo, Yevgeny Grinenko, called the fragments of the shell that fell in the city "fragments of an unknown origin".
