Seven-Month Dysfunction Of MRI Machine In Baranavichy Raises Concerns

This is not the first such case in Belarus.

In Baranavichy City Hospital #1, an MRI machine started working after repairs. It broke down at the beginning of May.

“Now it has been restored and, according to information from deputy chief physician for technology at the central clinic Vasil Harkavy, doctors have begun accepting patients for MRI examinations,” the publication notes.

This is not the first such case in Belarus, Belsat writes. For example, at the beginning of the year, after a five-month downtime, they began to repair an MRI machine at the Maladechna hospital. Then a representative of Medtechnocenter said that in Belarus there is a problem with components for such devices from Siemens.

In December, a computer tomography started working in the Liakhavichy district, but it broke down in September. The Liakhavichy Central District Hospital also reports problems with spare parts due to sanctions.

However, it's not just about sanctions. For example, back in 2017 in Babruisk they complained that the only MRI machine in the city was regularly breaking down.
