Russians Face Unexpected Problem On Front

The reason for the sharp rise in the occupiers' casualties has been revealed.

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports that the Russians have suffered serious casualties in recent days. The enemy is also complaining about minefields and a lack of maps.

Military expert, flight instructor and AFU reserve colonel Roman Svitan explained why the Russians are complaining in the air of 24 channel.

According to the military expert, the Russian leadership does not provide maps of minefields because they do not have them. This is the problem.

"When mined, each unit does not have a map, but a trail. So they need a map of trails, not a map of minefields. That means you can't go off the trail, even if you really want to.

When a unit leaves and another unit comes in, no one hands over a minefield map. They just don't exist. And a trail map is impossible to pass on. You can only walk along the path and show how to pass, what to look out for, where you can stand and where you can't. This does not happen," says Roman Svitan.

"The Russians have mined everything out of fear - there is a mine on top of a mine, and mines are covered with mines. So the next unit gets into such an interesting problem. They're taken to the position, thrown in and told: 'You can't go anywhere because there are mines all around. There is no map of the minefields. Stay in your positions. That's it," the military expert added.

Russian attempts to capture Avdiivka

Roman Svitan noted that with the forces the Russians have, their attempt to encircle Avdiivka is doomed to failure. In order to encircle the Avdiivka garrison, the width of the perimeter would have to be twice the width of the fortification itself.

"We have more than 10 kilometres in the Avdiivka area. Therefore, they should create at least from 12 kilometres and move to half cover," the military expert stressed.

He added that the Russians instead have a width of 3-4 kilometres. This means that they will be shelled from all sides and cut off.
