The EU has introduced sectoral sanctions against the Belarusian authorities. The document has been published. Sectoral sanctions completely ban the import of oil products and potash fertilizers from Belarus, as well as their transit through the EU.

Other prohibitions include:

▪️ Ban on the import and export of equipment and software for surveillance of people on the Internet and over the telephone.

▪️ Ban on long-term lending to state-owned companies and placement of securities with maturity over 3 months.

▪️ Ban on the sale and transit of tobacco and tobacco products from the EU to buyers from Belarus or for use in Belarus.

▪️ Ban on the transfer or export of all dual-use goods and technologies for military use in Belarus.

▪️ It is prohibited to provide funding or financial assistance for the acquisition of dual-use technologies for military use in Belarus

The sanctions come into effect on June 25.
