Minskers - Christians of various confessions came out with a procession against the violence taking place in Belarus, the website naviny.by writes.

At approximately 1 pm, about 70 people gathered near the archcathedral church of the Blessed Virgin Mary - Orthodox Christians with icons, Catholics with rosaries and Protestants with Bibles. Reading Our Father, they walked from Freedom Square to the main Orthodox church of the capital - the Holy Spirit Cathedral, where about the same number of people were waiting for them.

At the head of the procession were three seminarians and the deacon of the archcathedral church, Yury Rashotka. They told BelaPAN that this is a prayer action, they believe that with the help of a prayer it is possible to stop the violence raging in the country.

A mass for Belarus is now being held in the Holy Spirit Cathedral. Some of the participants of the action, without waiting for the group that was moving from the church, went to pray in the church, the rest are praying outside. About 150 people are now participating in the prayer action, and their number is growing.

It should be noted that the Belarusian Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church (BOC) promptly dissociated itself from this action.
