"Hang Tight!": Hundreds Of Detainees' Relatives Organized Solidarity Rally In Akrestsin Street

The eyewitnesses say that screams are heard from the Center for the Isolation of Offenders.

Today, on August 12, hundreds of the detained people's relatives came to Akrestsin Street, to the Minsk Center for the Isolation of Offenders. They are trying to find out their relatives' whereabouts. There are riot policemen and paddy wagons near the building. Snipers are sitting on the roof. The eyewitnesses say they can hear the screams. Apparently, the detainees are being beaten up.

Belsat journalists have been told that there are 60 people in each cell at the Center for the Isolation of Offenders. Those who got there before the elections were not given food or even toilet paper for a long time.

Protests in Belarus began on August 9 and continue to this day. They stand out for their brutality: law enforcers violently beat protesters, using gas, noise grenades, rubber bullets and even firearms.
