He Must Leave

He Must Leave

I want my Motherland to love me as much as I love it.

I love films about the Vietnam War veteran John Rambo. The world saw them a third of a century ago. They were shot by well-known directors Ted Kotcheff, George Cosmatos, Peter MacDonald with an interval of three years, in 1982, 1985, and 1988, writes Valer Stupachenka for Babruisk Courier.

I have watched these movies again recently. The feelings are the same - everything about them is bright, spectacular, rhythmic, fascinating, professional. Mosfilm has not dreamed of this until now. But the main thing in them is their general message, the so-called "super task".

In the first film, a lonely, unsettled veteran of the Vietnam War very convincingly "put in place" the presumptuous and impudent police chief in a provincial American town. In the second, a dozen years after the end of the war in Vietnam, he saved several of his comrades from the torture of the Vietnamese captivity. And in the third, he significantly helped the Afghan partisans in their fight against uninvited aliens - the Soviet invaders.

And do not forget his simple answer to the question of his commander (after the "combat" return from Vietnam in a helicopter riddled with bullets, stuffed with battered recent prisoners): "What do you want, John?"

- I want ... I want my Motherland to love me as much as I love it…

And I recalled these movies here precisely because of this one phrase …

In the cinema art, good always triumphs over evil. And in life?

In life, the attitude of our country to us, its citizens - let us say it bluntly - is gross. Especially in the outback, outside regional and other centers.

No, I’m not talking about the historical white-red-white flags, the cops with batons, hasty pseudo court trials with real fines and arrests. I am talking about something else this time.

Half of the provincials are diligently learning to survive at 300-350-400 rubles a month. Rather, they have already learned how to do it, as they have no other option - the prices for everything around are growing even faster ... And this is only 150-200 dollars.

(Although it has been officially announced that someone somewhere receives an average salary of 900-1000 rubles. People, when hearing these figures, laugh, spit, or swear …

However, the "500 bucks each", repeatedly promised to us by the ruler ten years ago, is remembered by no one but comedians. And even that - in the kitchens. It’s not accepted to joke publicly about yet another statement of the permanent leader, and not safe ...)

This summer, on the TV screen, a noticeably aged ruler voiced a new level of estimated salaries with the words "tolerable" and "acceptable". Try to guess how much this means in numbers ... or else - in kilograms of potatoes …

Moreover, recently the Prime Minister himself gave a command to enterprises to find the opportunity to pay their workers at least 400 rubles ... A gesture truly royal! Workers will be able to afford a few extra chicken legs in their diet…

Meanwhile, next year the third decade of the 21st century will begin its countdown ... Well, it’s a shame to live like that! The last destructive war in our region ended almost 75 years ago …

But the home-grown economic genius from a distant province, who brought his subordinates to such a "paradise" life, confidently ... or rather, self-confidently intends to pile up his royal throne next year again, for another five years …

And try to come out, say something against it! You will rejoice if it is regarded only as petty hooliganism ... In this case, you will get off only with days of arrest, not years in prison …

... Who knows - maybe in these next five years we will only work for a sip of the balance? As it was, for example, in Democratic Kampuchea (Cambodia) in the late 70s under the "great leader" Pol Pot

Apparently, other sane economists in our country now do not exist at all, they all disappeared about a quarter of century ago, as if on command. Gone, vanished, evaporated …

There is only HIM, one and only, among 9.4 million of our countrymen. If it wasn't for HIM, our only breadwinner, we would eat everything here. Like, if not HE, then who ?? The heart-breaking "Santa Barbara" show of our life …

But at the beginning of HIS reign, 25 years ago, there were almost a million more of us, the locals …

Over the past couple of years, I have also lost a dozen and a half of my good friends of both sexes. They left to work in the West. And they did it right. (Only one of them went to Russia, by backstairs influence.)

Normal people want to live a good, satisfying, prosperous life, pamper their kids with "goodies." Many left forever with their families. And I'm happy for them.

Our hardworking people deserve a much better destiny than the self-styled "economic genius" from the provincial state farm arranged for them.

They get ... or rather, they earn 6-8 times more in the West than in their own "socially-oriented" kingdom-state.

This is about the same as such "important" and "irreplaceable" figures as "deputy director for ideological work" at many of our enterprises get, precisely "get", not "earn".

(Why is this "ideological work" necessary? What do ideologists do for eight hours of their working time? Do they read recitations for the glory of the ruler? Otherwise, a turner-monarchist or turner-anarchist will not turn out the part on the machine as the turner-communist would have done?

Their main occupation, nevertheless, is to secure themselves, in their old age, a warm little place ...

Meanwhile, our people are leaving for Poland. The lucky ones - to Germany or the Czech Republic. thrones - to Belgium or Holland. People in these countries simply live, work, buy new cars for themselves, solve the housing problem (positively, and quite quickly). Enjoy life. And do not try to survive, looking at the shelves, sighing and counting a penny in their hands ...

Once, in the beginning of the 90s, our people brought all kinds of trash to Poland in rows and columns, everything - soup bags, tea, coffee, lard, cigarettes, screwdrivers and socks, electric light bulbs, irons, shirts, televisions, pliers, audio / video cassettes, transistor receivers, wrenches, boots ...

But a group of Polish economists led by Leszek Balcerowicz carried out reforms that entered history under the name of "shock therapy", and now Poland is the country with the fastest growing economy among all countries, former "prisoners of socialism", and getting to work in Poland, getting decently settled there is the dream of so many of our fellow citizens.

Meanwhile, there has recently been the 30th anniversary of the first free elections in Poland. They ended in victory for the leader of the independent trade union Solidarity, Lech Walesa. The same thing will happen in any real, free elections in our country - the opposition will win. Any politician who goes to the polls with the slogan of an immediate change of the ruler is guaranteed the support of the people.

The authorities are well aware of this, therefore even do not allow even thoughts about holding fair and transparent elections. The ruler will not tolerate competition from prominent opposition politicians. His court "deputies" are also afraid of independent candidates, well-known regional leaders, activists of public and political organizations ...

It is no secret to anyone that any honest and transparent election will end for the current ruler and all his "servants" in a shameful and devastating defeat. Therefore, while he is at the helm, we will not have free elections a priori.

People (in private conversations, and not only) are seriously dissatisfied with the fact that the police, courts, and parliament are turned into some "pocket" instruments of the ruler, that independent mass media are practically destroyed de jure, and the elections are a primitive farce comedy performed by an amateur drama hobby group, while throwing out ballots, a carousel, early voting, home voting, tricky calculations of the results became an integral and obligatory part of them ...

In addition, people are outraged that, in fact, the impoverished country almost continuously organizes various European and world sports championships, all kinds of international music festivals and other similar mass events, generously wasting billions of national money around...

A few days ago he suggested that Putin, together with Russia, should hold our next Olympic Games. As if we haven't had enough!

But in the country science and economics are almost completely ruined, corruption at all levels has become an integral part of our life, talented youth in all areas of science and art obligatory seeks to leave their homeland ...

An atmosphere of unprincipled lies, hatred, and fear has been created and is being cultivated. Oppositionists, journalists, and just smart, competent, thinking people who dared to express their opinion publicly, use their constitutional rights, are intimidated and tried ... And - they became undesirable for the ruling regime.

And for some reason, friendship, support and cooperation with the most notorious dictatorial regimes of our planet are advertised... This is some sort of dictatorial "International"...

But the state has only two main functions - to protect its external borders and in every way to stimulate citizens to build their material well-being. Accordingly, to pay taxes.

How and where to work, how much to earn, how to relax and have fun, how to dress, how and what to eat, what (and to whom) to believe, what to think, what organizations to join - people must decide for themselves. The task of the state is to ensure that nothing happens that could threaten the lives of the citizens. And that is why the current "restless and long-playing" ruler must leave. To leave, so that people can have decent jobs and be paid for their work, so that young people create families and give birth to children, and not figure out where it is better to flee, to leave to work and live, to Poland or the Czech Republic ...

And also - so that our talents live and work in their homeland and glorify our humble, small country with their achievements, as great people once did - Uladzimir Mulyavin, Vasil Bykau, Uladzimir Karatkevich ...

Our country must, simply must, be reborn like a phoenix from the ashes of lies, fear, lawlessness, inhumanity and all other "charms" of the ordinary, banal dictatorship of the past 25 years.

But for this, He must leave.
