CCP-BPF Applied ForTraditional Dziady Procession

Ales Chakholski said that the event "will take place no matter what".

Conservative-Christian Party - Belarusian Popular Front - has applied to hold a traditional procession and rally in Minsk on November 3 in the place of mass burial of victims of Stalin's repressions in the tract of Kurapaty on the occasion of the day of remembering the ancestors, "Dziady," naviny.by reports with reference to BelaPAN.

On October 13th, in Minsk, the executive secretary of the CCP-BPF and the head of the Public Directorate of the Kurapaty People's Memorial Ales Chakholski said at a meeting with representatives of the capital and regional initiatives to memorialize places of mass executions of the Stalinist era that the event "will take place no matter what".

"We cannot lose this event. Fees, no fees (to public services for services during the mass event. - BelaPAN) - this is another issue," he stressed.

Chakholski suggested representatives of regional initiatives to gather their activists and join the Minsk rally on "Dziady" with banners, which would indicate the names of places of mass execution, the memorialization of which they are engaged in. Thus, according to him, it will be seen "that people from all over Belarus come and that there are a lot of such places in the country".

CCP-BPF activists have not yet applied for a traditional procession and rally to commemorate the victims of Stalin's repressions in Loshytski Yar. "It is important for us to hold "Dziady" in Kurapaty. Besides, there may be another format in Loshytski Yar," - the party secretary said.
