Belarusian Paid Income Tax, But Got Into Base Of “Parasites”

A Homel resident was outraged by receiving a “chain letter.”

“The essence of the decree is that a person has to be directly involved in the economy. I work and pay income tax, but at the same time, the state considers me a parasite,” – Andrei, a Homel resident, is at a loss.

A man is engaged in advertising on the Internet and earns about $ 700, but according to the employment history is listed as unemployed. In early January, he received a notification to come to the district commission on promoting employment among the population, tut.by reports.

“On Saturday, January 5, they brought me a piece of paper informing that I was included in the base of the parasites. They ask to come before January 21 and have a talk with the commission,” – Andrei says.

Officially, Andrei does not work anywhere. By education, he is an engineer and, up to the present place of work, worked at the Homel foundry of Tsentralit. The man remembers that then he was paid 2.5 million rubles.

For the last three years, a man has been advertising on the Internet – the Irish company produces accruals to Andrei, the money comes to a bank account. Once a year he pays income tax as an individual, payments to the treasury of the state amount to approximately 700-1000 rubles.

– The schedule is free, this is not a standard eight-hour day. Approximately four hours a day – I can work from morning to evening for a day, then I can be free for a day. Now the average monthly salary is $ 600-700, with this money I support my family, I also do repairs in the apartment. My wife’s maternity leave is over, so she is in thought about what to do next, the man explains.

Andrei says that he is outraged that he received a notification to confirm employment:

– The essence of the decree is that a person has to be directly involved in the economy. I work and pay income tax, but at the same time, the state considers me a parasite. I’ve read that in this case one hundred percent payments for water and heating will be charged. In principle, it’s not big money, but I resent it,” – the Homel resident says.

We remind that on January 25, Lukashenka signed Decree No. 1, which provides for measures to discriminate officially employed citizens of Belarus.

The able-bodied citizens who are not employed in the economy will pay at prices (tariffs), which provide for 100% cost recovery, for the following utilities: hot water supply, gas supply with individual gas heating devices, heat supply.

The decree came into force on January 1, 2019.

We remind that the previous version of the decree caused mass protests among the population.
