Armenia is making a historic choice.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan after voting in parliamentary elections on Sunday, June 7, said that tensions in relations between Yerevan and Moscow are artificial.

Pashinyan said this at a briefing for journalists, Armenpress reported.

"I don't see tension, it is artificial tension. Our relations with Russia are institutional and based on mutual respect," he said.

Pashinyan also pointed out that some forces in Armenia are trying to create tension in relations with Russia, but these attempts are futile.

According to the Armenian Prime Minister, "this tension is not created for the simple reason" that he has "close relations" with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

Pashinyan also said that he will do what the people of Armenia decide.

"What the people decide, I will do. The expectations from the elections are the free expression of will of the citizens of Armenia. I am sure that the citizens of Armenia will win. Democracy always works in favor of regional and international cooperation and democracy is a toolkit for peace in the region," he said.

Today, Armenia is holding parliamentary elections, based on the results of which Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan hopes to retain power in the country. He has led Armenia since 2018 and has been increasingly active in trying to counter Russia's attempts to keep the country in the Kremlin's orbit.
