According to him, Washington trusts Putin.
The United States is ignoring evidence of close cooperation between Russia and Iran in attacks on U.S. bases in the Middle East because of its trust in Russia's dictator Vladimir Putin. The Ukrainian head of state Vladimir Zelensky said this in an interview with Rai, published on April 9.
The Ukrainian president stressed that he had repeatedly tried to draw the White House's attention to the close cooperation between Moscow and Tehran.
Zelensky said that Russian military satellites had photographed critical energy infrastructure in the Persian Gulf and Israel, as well as U.S. military bases throughout the region. The Kremlin, he noted, passed the images as well as details to the Iranian regime.
"I have spoken about this publicly. Has there been any reaction from the U.S. regarding Russia along the lines of "they have to stop all this?" The problem is that they trust Putin. And that's bad," Zelensky said.
He added that U.S. President Donald Trump's team failed to "really understand the details of what Russia wants."
