Lithuanian border guards intercepted a drone with smuggled cigarettes, which came from Belarus. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Lithuania.

The drone was spotted in the area of Dubo village near the Belarusian border. In the darkness, border guards first heard the sound of the drone, after which they were able to land it with the help of anti-drone equipment.

A bundle wrapped in black plastic film was attached to the device. After the drone was brought to the border post and the cargo was unpacked, 1000 packs of NZ Gold cigarettes with Belarusian excise stamps were found inside. According to border guards, the cost of such a quantity of illegal cigarettes, including all taxes in Lithuania, is about 5,380 euros.

The State Border Guard Service noted that since the beginning of the year border guards have already intercepted 11 drones, which were used by smugglers trying to smuggle cigarettes from Belarus.
