In the event of a shift in negotiations.
The United States is prepared to strike Iran if it fails to meet Washington's demands by the evening of April 7. However, that deadline could change if talks with Tehran "move forward," U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News.
If Iran fails to meet U.S. demands, it will be subjected to an attack "like it has never seen before," the U.S. leader told the network. "At 8 p.m. it will happen," he added.
Trump, however, said that if the sides come up with something concrete in the talks, the situation could change. But for now, the president is reluctant to make predictions. Asked whether the conflict could end with negotiations, Trump said he "wouldn't bet on it," Fox News reported.
The U.S. leader is demanding Iran make a peace deal and unblock the Strait of Hormuz, otherwise he promised to plunge Tehran "into hell": the U.S. would deal a heavy blow to Iran's bridges and energy industry. The ultimatum expires at 20:00 on April 7 (Washington time) - 03:00 the next day (Minsk time).
Trump said he was not concerned about possible war crimes that could be committed in the course of carrying out his threats. A few hours before the "deadline," the American leader also predicted the "death of an entire civilization" that could have been avoided.
