The crew of Artemis II set a record for the longest human flight distance from Earth.

NASA has launched an online broadcast of the crew of the Artemis II mission circling the Moon - already more than 465,000 people are watching Orion circling the Moon.

The NASA Artemis X says: "The Moon continues to grow in size in the portholes of the Orion spacecraft as the Artemis II mission prepares to observe the back side."

In addition, the agency said the mission's astronauts at 01:56 Eastern Time (17:56 UTC, 20:56 MST on April 6) broke the record for distance from Earth, which was set during the Apollo 13 mission. The astronauts then moved 248,655 miles (about 400,100 kilometers) away from Earth.

The astronauts are scheduled to make their closest approach to the Moon at about 19:02 Eastern Time (23:02 UTC, 02:02 Minsk on April 7).
