Illegal Migrants Trying To Break Through From Belarus To Latvia

Latvia has updated the daily record of border violation attempts foiled in 2026.

Over the past 24 hours, April 5, Latvia stopped 65 attempts of migrants to illegally cross the border from the territory of Belarus, according to the data of the State Border Guard of this Baltic country.

An analysis of "Pozirkam" daily published statistical information showed that this is a record daily figure on the Latvian-Belarusian border in 2026. The previous maximum value was recorded on March 31 - 49.

Since the beginning of this year, Latvia has prevented 512 attempts to violate the border from Belarus (in January - 0, February - 20, March - 295, for 5 April days - 197), which is 12.5% more than in the same period last year (455).
