Images Of A Fire At Russia's Largest Oil Terminal On The Black Sea Have Emerged

Photofact.

"Sheskharis", the largest oil terminal in southern Russia, caught fire after a massive Ukrainian drone attack on the night of April 6. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing NASA satellite images. The images, taken on Monday by the fire-tracking system, show fires near the port of Novorossiysk, including at the Sheskharis terminal.

The NASA system transmits fire data in real time for the U.S. and Canada, and within three hours for the rest of the world. The Sheskharis terminal is part of Transneft and is the terminus of its pipelines in southern Russia. Its capacity is 3.5-4.5 million tons of crude oil (about 1 million barrels per day, or 35-40 large tankers per month), which provides up to 20% of Russia's maritime exports. It ships not only crude oil, but also fuel oil and diesel fuel.
