Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's visit to Syria has surprised experts. The footage shows a military band, Ukrainian flags along the roads and an unusually warm atmosphere between the leaders.

Politologist Charles Lister drew attention to the unusual footage of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's meeting in Syria. Commenting on Zelensky's visit, the expert noted that the format of the reception was markedly different from the way other heads of state had previously been welcomed in the country.

The published footage, he said, shows a military band, an official welcoming ceremony, and Ukrainian flags placed along the roads.

"I don't recall seeing such a presidential video of any previous state visit. Russia certainly didn't get one," Lister wrote.
