Politico: Trump Is Preparing New Staff Reshuffles In His Administration
Donald Trump

After the firing of the attorney general.

US President Donald Trump is considering new staff reshuffles in his administration after firing Attorney General Pam Bondi.

This is reported by Politico.

According to the publication, Trump expressed dissatisfaction with the work of Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.

An administration official said the president is "very angry" and may fire a number of officials.

Final decisions regarding Lutnick and Chavez-DeRemer have not yet been made, however. Sources note that Trump had previously considered firing them but declined to take that step.

One of the interlocutors characterized Lutnick's positions as "on thin ice."

Reasons for possible changes

Another senior official said potential personnel changes could involve cabinet members who Trump believes have failed to live up to expectations or attracted too much negative attention.

In addition, the White House is discussing the possibility of a broader "reset" of the administration amid the difficult political situation.

Another source said Trump is also considering personnel changes because of concerns that it could be more difficult to approve new appointments in the future, especially if Democrats strengthen their position after the midterm elections.

It was previously reported that Trump fired Attorney General Pam Bondi over dissatisfaction with her performance, particularly in cases involving financier Jeffrey Epstein.

It was also reported that Bondi had been called to testify before the US Congress as part of a related investigation.
