Drones Struck A Refinery In Russia's Ufa, 1,400 Kilometers From The Ukrainian Border

A great fire has risen.

Near the morning of April 2, drones reached the capital of the Russian Republic of Bashkortostan, Ufa, where a fire started in an industrial area after a series of loud explosions. It's about 1,400 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

The target of the drone attack could have been a large local oil refinery, Bashneft-UNPZ (Ufa Oil Refinery). This said the head of the Center for Occupation Studies Petr Andryushchenko.

"Ufa, Bashkortostan. "Arrivals" of our drones to Bashneft-UNPZ," the report says.

Andryushchenko recalled that this is already a second attack on the facility in Ufa, which occurred this year. The first one took place on March 26.

The attack on the plant was also reported in the morning by OSINT channels, which showed footage of the aftermath in the city, which shows a strong fire. It is fixed exactly in the industrial zone, analysts note.

Russian Telegram channels write that the attack on Ufa began around 06:00 hours. Local residents complained that they woke up to the sounds of explosions, and shortly afterward a fire broke out in one of the neighborhoods in the city's industrial zone.

Russians also write that one of the drones allegedly flew into a high-rise building. Officially, Russian authorities have not commented on the consequences.

Before this, an air alert was declared throughout the Republic of Bashkortostan due to the threat of drones, and the local airport restricted work amid the threat.

It should be noted that Bashneft-UNPZ is one of the key oil refineries in Ufa. The refinery is part of Bashneft (Rosneft) and specializes in the production of high-quality petroleum products, including gasoline and diesel fuel. The enterprise provides processing of raw materials from Bashkortostan and Western Siberia.
