Many explosions were heard in the area of the Kirovske military airfield.

On the night of April 2, explosions were heard in various parts of occupied Crimea, with the region declaring an alert due to the threat of drones and missiles. Nine districts of the peninsula were left without light, "Focus" reports.

Light outages amid the attack were recorded in Simferopol, Dzhankoy, Krasnogvardeisky, Saksky, Krasnoperekopsk districts, electricity was lost in Sevastopol and Feodosia. This is reported by Russian Telegram channels.

Russian authorities claim that the shutdowns began allegedly as a result of "technological violations in the main networks." This was reported as early as around 22:00 hours, promising to resume supplies within the next three hours.

Otherwise, the monitoring channel "Crimean Wind" writes with reference to eyewitnesses' data that the light began to disappear in some areas after a series of explosions amid a drone attack.

"Before the light disappeared in Krasnoperekopsk district, there were heard 'arrivals', powerful. There were at least five of them," one witness said.

The blackout was also recorded in occupied parts of Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions, the network reported.

A lot of explosions were heard in the northern part of Crimea, as well as in the Simferopol district near the Tavricheskaya thermal power plant, according to monitoring channels.

The "Crimean Wind" also writes that many explosions were heard near the Kirovske military airfield. Russian air defense forces were actively working there, and several planes were recorded flying out against the background of the attack.

The airfield is subordinate to the flight test center of the Russian Defense Ministry named after Chkalov (v/h 3865).
